Prohibition in the United States (from 1920 to 1933) banned the sale of alcoholic drinks, resulting in illicit speakeasies becoming lively venues of the "Jazz Age", an era when popular music included current dance songs, novelty songs, and show tunes.
Hi my name is Timberlynn and our theme for this styling event is *All That Jazz*.  My outfit today, depicts a Roaring 20's Flapper.  Flappers were a "new breed" of young Western women in the 1920s who wore short skirts, bobbed their hair, listened to jazz, and flaunted their disdain for what was then considered acceptable behavior. Flappers were seen as brash for wearing excessive makeup, drinking, treating sex in a casual manner, smoking, driving automobiles and otherwise flouting social and sexual norms.

This was a fun styling event and I learned a lot about that time in history.  I was really shocked that I came in first place in the event, as I'm always having lag problems on sl.  There were so many great stylings by the other contestants, that it really must have been hard for the judge to decide who would win.  I want to congratulate Sweetyuna 2nd place, and Ziggy who took 3rd place.  All the contestants did a spectacular job.
